Jealous, Much?

I have absolutely no complaints about how our sweet dog, Annie has acclimated to Alex. She has accepted him as part of the pack/family and follows him throughout the house. Well, last night she clearly had enough.

Shortly after Alex and I were done playing on his handmade quilt given to Alex from my Mom. Annie came in from outside, looked at me and laid right on top of it. Normally, I would have not been that upset and just waited until she got up and threw it in the washing machine BUT it rained here all day yesterday. Annie has a penchant for laying in the mud after it rains. Don't ask me why neither Drew nor myself can seem to break her of this nasty habit. Anyway, she came close to ruining it and it is now in the washing machine for the second time to try and get all of the mud stains off of it. If she wasn't so cute I would have had to beat her. The best part is when she plopped her fat booty down on top of it she looked at me like "Yeah, what are you gonna do?" Poor thing realized that's the play quilt and if she wants to be played with she needs to lay on it too. Smart, but frustrating nonetheless.

Isn't it an adorable quilt? Annie thinks so, too.

97th Percentile

Like most new parents we use our bathroom scale to weigh Alex from time to time. Well, with his last growth spurt we made the assumption (and you know what they say about people who assume) that he may have lost a few pounds. We. were. wrong.

His Royal Fatness is now tipping the scales at 16lbs. I found a growth chart on-line and he is now in the 97th percentile for his age group. AWESOME! No wonder he fits so well into his 9 Mos clothing.

July 4th Recap

This past week we were home to visit family and have some good ole fashioned fun. Alex had a blast! We celebrated first birthdays, watched fireworks, met all sorts of cousins and watched some dear friends tie the knot.

Are ya ready? Here we go!

Look at those sweet little faces! Jake and Sophia REALLY enjoyed their cake. In fact Sophia liked it so much she decided to share some of it with her dog, Sugar. Jake? Well, he ate all of his that is until his Daddy took it away from him.

Alex and Uncle Keith chillin' out.

Drew and Big Papa solving all of the worlds problems.

Alex, his Aunt Jane and cousin Maggie. Aunt Jane and Alex bonded and spent the majority of the evening together. Alex wasn't even bothered by all of the fireworks going off in the backyard.... Aunt Jane ROCKS!!!

Uncle Cal and Alex.

If you will notice both Alex and Glenn are napping. Love. It.

Sunday afternoon our friends Adrianna and Scott came over to meet Alex.

Scott and Alex. Please don't be alarmed by Scotts "look". His bark is SO much worse than his bite.... I often refer to him as "a sheep in wolf's clothing". Regardless Alex had a blast with him.

Alex with his cousins Molly and Maggie. Maggie was completely enamored by Alex, Molly not so much.

GranNan and Alex watching The Young and The Restless.

Jake explaining to Alex that he is the boss in these neck of the woods.

Friday, Alex met his cousin Lucy for the first time. They both seemed to hit it off and enjoyed each others company.

Alex, Aunt Amy(birthday buddy) and Lucy for their first official snapshot.

Lucy realizing that her Mommy had someone else in her lap. I love her look "Hey, wait a minute! Who the HECK is this?"

Sorry Amy, I promised all "good" pics but this is my new favorite pic of Lucy. Too cute!!!

This visit Alex had his first big boy stay over with Nana. If it went anything like this pic then I know they had a great time together. Nana was singing George of the Jungle and Alex was a little confused, but enjoying himself. Look at him in his Bumpo seat! Acting like a big boy and everything. Thanks B, once again, for letting us borrow even more baby gear.

Saturday, our friends Kelly and Kevin got hitched. They are currently in Costa Rica.... turds. It was a beautiful ceremony and a great reception.

Drew taking a pic of the elusive paparazzi. They are a tricky sort!

A halfway decent pic of Drew and I....
Sunday we came home.... and we were exhausted. Heck, I'm still tired. That's why it took so long to post....
