Random Pics

Pics from our last visit home.

Mom losing control, fast.

I can hear it just a few short years. "Nana, she IS touching me!"

Look at how tightly Alex is holding on to that remote! Yeah, he's definitely a man!!!

Alex, Sopia, Jacob and Keegan. Oh My!

When beagles attack. Not really, Maggie is just exuberant in her need to be in the middle of everything. Everything.

So Much!!!

This past month we have been very, very busy here at the Weckman household. We have had guests, we've had new windows installed, we had our foyer and 1/2 bath retiled and Bug has grown like a weed. That was a mouthful wasn't it? Here are some recent pics of the Little Man and the hallway before our new travertine was installed.
Notice the screensaver on the computer? Yeah, I think he might like himself just a bit...

The marble came up so much easier than I had anticipated. They first tried to take it out with a jackhammer of sorts. When that didn't work they did it by hand. That made it much easier for me to handle. Much. Easier.

The half bath was the first remodel project that Drew and I tackled after we moved in. I hated to see the slate go BUT it would not match with what we had decided on in the hallway and I wanted it all to flow.

Sexiness, I know! Every time I came through the front door I felt like I was in the movie Casino. It drove me crazy! The tile guys are coming back tomorrow to finish the floor, they need to glaze it and then Voila'! It will be done and I can post pics of the new and improved Weckman foyer. So exciting!

Say Cheese

Last weekend we went back home for a few reasons.
1 - My Grandma's Birthday Bash
2 - Alex's 6 month photo ops

We have lots of pics from the previous two weekends to post BUT in the meantime if you have a few extra minutes check out http://www.jenkellerphoto.com/ and click on "Mr. Alex".

Jen did a fantastic job and she is great with kids, in fact that is her specialty so to speak. I think they turned out great but then again I'm a little partial to the Little Man.

6 Month Check Up

This afternoon Bug had his 6 month check up. Everything looks great and the Dr seemed very happy with his progression since the last visit. He is up to 20lbs 3oz and 26.5 inches long or 90th and 65th percentile respectively, in other words he's a chunk. Our big boy only cried for a minute max after the shots and then gave the nurse his best flirt possible. You know, the big grin and then hiding his face in my chest and flailing those arms about. Yeah, the ladies eat that stuff up (suckers). I keep telling him that this tactic will only last for so long but as of right now? Yeah, it works like a charm, he's such a little hambone.
He's snoozing at the moment and if today's visit is anything like the other check ups he will probably sleep straight through until tomorrow morning.

Let Me Tell Ya Bout My Best Friend

Love, I tell ya, love. The only problem with it is this. Annie runs hot and cold. She'll sleep in his room and follow him around the house. Other times she looks at us like 'Look at what you did! It was perfect when it was just the three of us! Why? Why?' It confuses the Little Man.

My Lil Colts Fan

Way back in October of 2008 we went up to Indy to visit our dear friends, Kort and Sandy, and to see AC/DC in concert. I am not a Colts fan at all and Sandy being the little shit that she is thought that I would 'just love' this bib. Well, with Alex now mastering baby food I have whipped out the bibs and could not resist defacing this heirloom. Sandy, don't be too upset, I couldn't resist it.
If I didn't know any better I would think that someone had slipped a mickey in those sweet potatoes.

His main concern throughout dinner was Annie. Annie is always on the top of his list, he's always looking for her, watching her and trying to touch her. Drew and I could disappear as long as Annie was in the room to keep him company.

All things considered dinner was a success!!!

Open Season

Annie has a love hate relationship with our outdoor neighbors, the squirrels. And by love hate, I mean she loves to hate them. The dog has spent thousands of 'man' hours devoting herself to stalking, chasing and plotting against them. Last night it finally paid off.

Drew and I decided to sit outside last night and watch the storm come in, little did we know that Annie had been busy. So busy, in fact, that she was literally hopping with excitement when we sat down. She was oh so happy when Drew finally walked over and looked at what she was hopping on. The fat ass managed to catch and well, unfortunately kill one. I haven't seen her that happy since her last bowl of food BUT here's what amazes us.

SHE CAUGHT A SQUIRREL!!!

After years and years of chasing them she actually caught a squirrel! Do I seem shocked? Well, I am. Dumbfounded is a better word for it. So, the only way I see it is this, there are only two options left after the "Squirrel Debacle of 09" 1) Now, she will never stop stalking and chasing them OR 2) She's gotten it out of her system. Something tells me the first scenario is the right one.

My only issue with this is; I feel sorry for her friend Sadie who helps with said stalking. Poor Sadie wasn't here to enjoy the fruits of their labor....

I guess there is always a next time.

Geaux Tigers!!!!

This past weekend Drew, Alex and I took a little road trip to Baton Rouge, LA. Mom and Dad went to their first LSU Tigers game and Alex had his first taste of powdered sugar. We had a great time and here are some pics. Bug was a little champ on the way down and home again. Thursday night we had to stop twice but on Sunday we had no issues and it was smooth sailing the whole trip. He is quite the traveler!
Moments after the first taste of the powdered sugar....
Seconds after the sugar hit his bloodstream.... A very, very happy baby!

Tiger stadium holds 92,000 people and the game was sold out. I thought Arrowhead stadium was impressive? Hah! They aint seen nothin' wait until you have that many Cajuns screaming "Go Tigers". Yeah, it's loud. Real. Loud.
Right as the game was starting. If you looked out across the stadium all you saw was purple and gold. Amazing! It almost made me feel sorry for the opposing team.
We had a blast and no worries, before anyone asks Bug did not go to the game, he stayed at the house with his buddy Lynn. They partied their wheels off until someone couldn't take it anymore and conked out at 6:30. He's a wild one I tell ya, a wild one!

Our Little Bed Bug

Every morning after Alex gets up Drew or I bring him into bed with us and we play. It is the best way to start your day out and it's the best time for Alex because he is always in such a fantastic mood after a nights worth of sleep. The last one is my favorite! When you put the covers over his head he laughs and starts flailing those arms and legs. Too cute!

My Buddy and Me

This weekend my Dad and Stepmom, Nancy came to visit the little man. All three of them had an absolute blast! We went out to lunch, grilled out for dinner and Alex was paraded around the neighborhood by two very proud grandparents. Alex is absolutely mesmerized by his Grandpa. It was so funny! He just stared at him the whole time. I'm usually the one that he stares at so it was rather interesting to see what it looks like from the other side.

Here are some pics.

Here he is with Grandpa. To give you some idea of how enamored he is with his Grandpa, Nancy was holding him and my Dad asked "Alex, how are you." and the little guy threw himself at Grandpa. Poor Nancy she barely kept hold of him.

Alex tried to scare them with his super neat way of telling you he's done with his bottle, by coughing and gagging. It's rather funny and full of all sorts of drama.

Cute Pics Just Because....

Some Assembly Required

After the Steinkuhlers left Sunday afternoon Alex and I assembled his highchair. Well, I put it together Alex watched. I had to wait until Drew came home to get some of it completed however because I didn't have the brut strength to get some of those screws tightened enough. You would think with carrying around a 19lb baby that wouldn't be an issue.... yeah, no not really.

After we got it together we needed his Royal Fatness to test it out for us. He seemed to enjoy it, that is until he bent over and knocked his head on the tray....

That's his "Ladykiller" look.

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend, our friends the Steinkuehlers came to visit and we all had a great time. We went to the zoo, out to dinner and both Annie and Bug had a blast with Mitchell and Riley.

Towards the end of the afternoon. Alex was active and alert for close to the whole zoo experience however, he was not at all amused by the animals. Not at all! BUT, he will have a blast next year.

Towards the beginning of the trip. Look how cute those boys are!!!

Checking out the pandas....

Coming back from the polar bear exhibit. Mitchell was upset, not sure about what but I love that look on his face.

Alex absolutely adores those boys. Such entertainment!

Please note that Riley has his underoos on backwards..... how freaking adorable is that? I laugh every time I look at these pics. I cannot wait till he is old enough to be embarrassed by these.

Weekend with Nana

Two weeks ago my Mom came down for the weekend. I don't think that she put Alex down for any longer than 10 minutes... tops! They had a great time together, especially Alex he eats up any and all attention. You'd think that we ignore him when no one is visiting. Anyway, here are some pics...

Some Catching Up To Do....

There are some very good reasons as to why I have not posted in a dog's age. Thought I would give you the top three.

1) My memory card in the camera was full
2) Alex has been sick with bronchiolitis and taking up all of our free time
3) I have been super busy at work

Well, I downloaded all of my pics and cleared up the memory card issue. Alex is feeling better and it's almost the weekend so all issues have now been cleared up. Whew, that was tiring!

Anyway, heeeeerrrrrreeeessss Alex!!!!

Okay, maybe not Alex but a darn cute member of the family. She likes to put all her toys in a pile and lay on them. Not sure why but she's done it for years... it's kinda sad isn't it?

Playing around with the camera last night. Our latest family photo. I think this will end up in his room.

Drying off right after bath time.

My little Buddha baby! I love that stomach. This is one of those pics that I will just have to show his high school girlfriend and that he'll be so embarrassed about. Things to look forward to....

He goes absolutely crazy in the water! These two pics are the best and calmest that we could get. He just goes crazy when he is submerged in water. He. Loves. The. Water.

Helping Mommy pack his lunch box for school today.... please note that he is underneath the cabinets in this pic. I wonder how long that will last?

Isn't that the sweetest face?
